Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a captivating story to the Cambodia casinos that sit just over the border from next door Thailand, where gambling hall gaming is not permitted. Eight gambling halls are based in a generally tiny space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent spot, a three to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest gambling centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The astonishing capital accrued from the gambling halls ranges from $7.5 million to more than 12.5 million, and there are a number of controls constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mostly Thai; however, funding sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and though visas are allegedly required to pass, there are methods and means around this, as is accurate of many borders.
The 1st Cambodia casinos premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving just a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored boat gambling hall, features 150 slot machines and 60 gaming tables. The Naga casino never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of 21, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The original casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon opened. A total of 150 slots and five tables at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred slots and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machine games and 96 gaming tables, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and 66 of the normal gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an international resort and hotel building that contains a number of amenities accompanying the gambling den, which offers 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 one armed bandits and 88 tables.
