Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is an interesting story to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just over the border from nearby Thailand, in which gambling hall gambling is against the law. Eight gambling halls are anchored in a relatively small location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling dens is in a prime spot, a three to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing income gained from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a few controls requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be mostly Thai; still, funding sources are cryptic. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 17:00, and even though visas are supposedly necessary to cross, there are means around this, as is true of many border crossings.

The initial Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only 1 gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary ship gambling hall, highlights one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and sixty gaming tables. The Naga gambling den is open 24 hours with forty two tables of mini-punto banco, 4 tables of vingt-et-un, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long opened. There are one hundred and fifty slots and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slots and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 slot machine games and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety six gaming tables, including 87 baccarat banque (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machine games and 66 of the normal table games, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a multinational vacation and hotel compound that highlights many amenities on top of the gambling hall, which houses 10,000 sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slots and eighty eight gaming tables.
