Despite the fact that online wagering is now a billion dollar industry, and endless thousands of new wagerers around the globe log on daily to bet at internet gambling halls, there are still millions of newbies to the world of online betting who do not as yet have a clear understanding of much of the terminology employed in internet betting, and gambling on athletics in general. Nonetheless, understanding of these ideas is necessary to knowing the games and codes of gambling:

ACTION: Any style of wager.

ALL-IN: In poker, all-in means a gambler has deposited all of his money into the pot. A second pot is developed for the bettors with remaining chips.

ALL-UP: To bet on many horses in the same contest.

ANTE: A poker phrase for placing a specified figure of chips into the pot prior to the start of each hand.

BRING-IN: A required wager in seven-card stud carried out by the player displaying the lowest value card.

BUST: You do not win; As in blackjack, when a player’s cards total over 21.

BUY-IN: The the least sum of chips required to enroll in a match or event.

CALL: As in poker, when a wager is the same as a previously made bet.

CHECK: In poker, to remain in the game without betting. This is allowed only if no other players wager in that round.

CLOSING A BET: Like in spread betting, meaning to place a wager equal to but opposite of the leading bet.

COLUMN BET: To wager on any of the three columns of a roulette game.

COME BET: In craps, similar to a pass-line wager, but carried out after the player has ascertained her point.

COME-OUT ROLL: A crapshooters first toss to ascertain a point, or the first roll after a point is ascertained.

COVERALL: A bingo term, which means to blanket all the numbers on a bingo sheet.

CRAPPING OUT: In craps, to roll a 2, 3 or 12 is an automatic loss on the come-out toss.

DAILY DOUBLE: To choose the winners of the initial 2 events of the night.

DOWN BET: To bet that the result of an action will be lower than the lowest end of the quote on a spread bet, also known as a "sell".

DOZEN BET: In roulette, to gamble on one or more of three categories of twelve numbers, one-12, etc.

EACH WAY BET: A athletic event bet, which means to gamble on a group or player to win or position in a match.

EVEN MONEY BET: A wager that pays the same sum as bet, ( one to one ).

EXACTA: gambling that 2 horses in a race will finish in the exact same assignment as the bet – also known as a " Perfecta ".

FIVE-NUMBER LINE BET: In roulette, a wager placed on a grouping of 5 numbers, such as 1-2-3-0, and 00.
