Cambodia Gambling Halls

by Davian on Dec.27, 2016, under Casino

There is an appealing background to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just across the dividing line from next door Thailand, where gambling den gambling is prohibited. Eight gambling halls are anchored in a relatively tiny location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling dens is in a perfect location, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest betting centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The amazing capital gained from the gambling dens ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a number of controls requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mostly Thai; still, investment sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 0900 to 5:00 p.m., and despite the fact visas are for all intents and purposes necessary to pass, there are ways around this, as is true of many borders.

The 1st Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving only one gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored boat casino, features one hundred and fifty slot machine games and sixty table games. The Naga casino is open all hours with 42 tables of mini-punto banco, four tables of blackjack, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long followed. There are one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slot machine games and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machine games and 96 table games, including eighty seven punto banco (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and 66 of the common gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machines and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a multinational resort and hotel complex that features a number of amenities on top of the casino, which houses 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and 88 tables.
