Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a captivating history to the Cambodia gambling halls that sit just across the border from nearby Thailand, where casino wagering is not legal. Eight gambling dens are situated in a generally small space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia casinos is in a perfect destination, a three to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest wagering locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very couple of Westerners. The phenomenal income acquired from the gambling dens ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a number of restrictions constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; although, funding sources are vague. The borders are formally open from 9:00 a.m. to 17:00, and despite the fact visas are supposedly needed to cross, there are means around this, as is accurate of many borders.
The first Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only one casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored bateau casino, contains one hundred and fifty slot machine games and sixty gaming tables. The Naga gambling den never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, 4 tables of twenty-one, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The original casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown quickly followed. A total of one hundred and fifty slot machine games and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slots and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 96 table games, including 87 baccarat (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and 66 of the common table games, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, also a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slots and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-around resort and hotel complex that highlights many amenities on top of the gambling den, which houses 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and 88 table games.
